Concept Summary   

Long-Term Safety and Security:  If you're  thinking about long-term safety for your family in times of emergency, consider becoming part of the NorCal Safe Haven Community.  

What Is it:   Our Safe-Haven Community is made up of several families who pool their resources to produce a shelter, which in an emergency, they will all share.   The above ground area will consist of individual homes in a private-access-secured  residential complex.   The suggested above-ground residence is build in the House Forever construction format.   The underground portion will be a condominium-style bunker complex.  

In Non-Emergency Times:    In non-emergency times, the participating families have a safe, rural, above-ground home in our gated and secure community.  

Off-Site Homes:   Some participant may choose to have their above ground home located on a nearby private property site.   As long as they are close enough to access the shelter in an emergency, this will work well as an additional option. 

Where Is Our Safe-Haven Community Located:  In California, North of San Francisco and south of the Oregon border.   If you'd like us to build a similar complex for you at some other location, we can do that, as well.  

Security by Mutual Support:   Let's start with an example.  If you have a security alarm on your car, does that prevent thieves from stealing cars?  No!   It just stops them from stealing your car.   The same analogy applies to your emergency home.

For a moment, step into an emergency time where everybody is on their own.   Put yourself in the position of a criminal who wants to break into a family's bunker.   Are you going to go to a mutually-supporting community where there are a couple dozen men who will kill you if you attempts to break in or are you going to go somewhere else and attack an isolated single family? 

It doesn't take Einstein or Sherlock Holmes to figure out which situation is safest for you and for your family.   Crooks will go where the stealing is the easiest and least dangerous.  

Another Reason to Be Part of a Community:   Are you aware that in an emergency, by far your greatest assets will be your fellow bunker residents.   Humans are social animals.   Very few of us can survive for very long on our own.   Living by yourself in any degree of safety and comfort is all but impossible, particularly if a long-term survival is required, or in a national or global  emergency where outside assistance is not available.  

A condominium-style bunker complex can provide a balance between having too many people  (and overburdening the facility)  and having too few people (not enough people to provide adequate mutual support).

Condominium-Style Bunker Complex

Now you have options for emergency safety for yourself and for your family.   Consider what we have to offer:     

   Style and format:   We're building our Safe-Haven Community bunker complex using community parameters similar to those of a condominium.   Our design is modular and is extremely versatile.   It consists of mutually-owned portions and privately-owned portions.   Additional structures and facilities can easily be added on a later date.   Your personal space can also be expanded.

   Affordability:   Because of our unique, modular construction style, construction costs are much lower than a traditional bunker .   Our bunkers are more comparable in price to building a house.   When you share this bunker complex with others, the cost for everybody is less.   This makes living in our Safe-Haven Community complex affordable.  

    Private Living Spaces:   Keep in mind that the underground portion of our community is a limited-use, emergency shelter, so don't expect luxury living.   However, each private living space is reasonably comfortable.   The underground bunker units are similar in style to mobile homes.   Unit size can be figured to meet your family's needs.  

   Safety and Security:   Your safety and the safety of your family is obviously the top priority.   In an emergency, being underground provides significantly more safety and security than a surface structure.   In addition, our physical structures are much stronger than traditional underground safety facilities.   They're also invisible from the surface with secret and secure entrances and exits.  

Our bunker-safety system includes blast-proof doors and several other security features that we will not divulge on the Internet.   Remember, Bunker-Builder, Kurt built bunkers for Saddam Hussein, and in the 1991 Gulf War, he also instructed Norman General Schwarzkoph on how to destroy them.  

We can assure you that if anybody attempts to break into our bunker complex, they will very quickly regret their folly.   We say that because Bunker-builder Kurt has some special training and some unique talents.   Also, if unwelcomed outsiders attempt to force their way into your bunker complex, being part of a mutual-support community could be the difference between life an death. 

   Secrecy:   We recommend that people know about your bunker on a need to know basis only.   Avoid letting young children (and irresponsible older children) know about your bunker until it's necessary to do so.  

We maintain strict client confidentiality.  We do not disclose the locations of our client's bunkers unless we are under court order and compelled to do so.

   Private Property:   Your personal residence portion of the bunker complex is privately owned by you and by you family, and/or friends, and/or whomever else you choose to have as co-owners.   Because of the emergency nature of a bunker system ( limited space, limited facilities, limited supplies, et cetera, there will be restrictions on how many people you can have in you private space.  

   Ownership Flexibility:   Most condominium-style bunker systems will allow unit owners to sell their private spaces.  However, there will be restrictions.   For example, if you've contracted with us to use your private space for (---) many  people, the new owner can only bring in that same number of people or less.  

This is a private, members-only facility.   Sale of your private space and sale of the right to use your portion of the community space is limited and controlled by facility managers.    

This may sound discriminatory.   Well, it is because this is an emergency shelter and conditions and circumstance are not normal.  

   Pets / Animal Companions:   In your above-ground home, pets are easily cared for, however in an underground shelter, pet-care is a completely different story.   We will have a pet shelter area in the underground complex.  

ALL pets will be required to stay in the shelter area and not in your private bunker area.   Obviously the cost of this portion of the underground complex will be born by the pet owners.   Prior notifications to utilize this service will be required.   

   Expanding the Size of the Bunker Complex:   Our modular style bunker system is expandable at any time in the future.   We simply add addition units just like adding another building nearby in a normal community, only a major portion of this community is underground.    

   Construction time:   Construction takes about half the time that traditional bunkers.  Just remember if your bunker community is being built where winters get very cold, you need to plan for summer construction.    

   Bunker Considerations:   An individual bunker and/or a community bunker complex can be anywhere you choose.   Here are some of our recommendations:  

   Build your bunker away from heavily populated areas.  

   Build your bunker at a minimum of 400 feet above
          sea level, preferably a minimum of 800 feet
          above sea level..   

   Stay away from large bodies of water they could
          flood your bunker as a result of an earthquake.  

   Avoid being down wind of a nuclear power plant.  

   Many mountains are actually dormant volcanoes.  
          Be sure to avoid being in the path of destruction in case
          the volcanoes awakens.  

   Plan ahead.   Think of what could happen,
          build in a contingency to deal with it, and then move on.    

   Emergency Preparedness:   What do you do if and when an emergency occurs.   Dozens of factors need to be considered.   It's unlikely that you will be able to  handle all these problems and situations on your own.   See these pages:
