Background and Training:

Bunker-Builder Kurt was brought up in the port city of Hamburg Germany following WWII. His father, his uncle, and his grandfather were German officers during WWII, his Jewish grandmother was a holocaust survivor, and after the war, his grandfather ran a shipyard in the Hamburg harbor.

Those who managed The Marshall Plan, which was designed to revitalize Europe following WWII intentionally ignored the people of West Germany, so smuggling was not only a way of life, it was, for many German families, a means of survival. In his youth, Kurt saw, heard, and witnessed thing that would make you split your gut laughing and things that would make you want to throw up.

He was a naturally gifted child and that along with a photographic memory and his ability to intuitively know thing that other totally missed, gave him a huge advantage over those around him. At every job he took, he expressed his ability to do it far better that his co-workers. Soon his bosses began mentoring him and giving him jobs that challenged his abilities. Within a relatively short time he was being called upon to solve problems that baffled others, including some of the trained engineers. In the context of an apprentice, he studied under the watchful eye of some of Europe's finest engineers.

He also took time out from his engineering career to become trained by German military in their version of what in America is called "The Special Forces." Following his stint in the military, and in spite of never having had any official engineering education, he was hired by a major construction company to be one of their chief engineers in Iraq. There he supervised the construction of three electric power plants, several roads, and two of Saddam Hussein's secret bunkers.

Because of his skills, talents, and experience he was "called upon" by the American military to be a behind the scenes advisor to General Norman Schwarzkopf during the 1991 Gulf War. A Bunker Under Your Nose:

When you watch Television and see images of famous structures, you know instantly what country you are in. For example, the Eiffel Tower immediately says Paris France, The Sydney Opera House places you in Australia, The Statue of Liberty speaks of New York, USA.. There are numerous other famous-known structure all over the world.

There are also some that are not quite so famous structure, but structures that can be seen in tour guide books, on TV travelogues, and in numerous commercials. At least one of these semi-famous building has an underground bunker hidden beneath it. I know, because I was the construction engineer in charge of building it.

Hundreds or thousands (and probably milllions) of people have viewed and admired the exterior of this historic building. I've seen it in TV travelogues, and it's prominent in the advertising of a product that is used by millions, and yet, nobody but the building owners and myself and any other living construction crew members know that their is a bunker hidden under this building.

Obviously, for reasons of security and client-confidentiality, the exact structure and its location shall remain a secret. I can, however, offer you a few of the details of how we managed to build this bunker in the middle of a major city under a famous building without anybody knowing that we were building it.

The first step was a thorough analysis of the existing structure. Underneath the building we found a normal basement and a building foundation that was very old and seriously deficient. Once the analysis was translated into specific construction plans, the first physical step was to go completely around the building, section by section, and replace the existing foundation with a updated and incredible strong, new foundation. The next phase was the bunker, itself, and then above the bunker we intended to completely remove the buildings interior and replace it with a modern structure including, plumbing, electrical, and the like.

During this process, the building was obviously closed to the public. We were instructed to keep the construction process as low key as possible and nobody was to know about the bunker. In order to hide the fact that we were removing hundreds of tons of rocks and soil out from under the building, we used a blue bus that was specifically designed to carry the excavated rocks and soil. We had second blue buses that carried the construction crew to and from the job site so when the soil-filled bus left the building, it appeared to an outside observer as an empty bus.

Also, our construction crews for the bunker were brought in form a foreign country. The first crew was sent home when the lower section of the bunker was completed and a new crew was brought in. The top portion of the bunker was designed to also be used as a parking garage. Most of the crew for the top portion of the bunker did not know that the bottom portion even existed. When the bunker/parking portion was completed, that crew was also sent home and a third crew brought in to retrofit the building, itself.

Today when you look at the building from the outside, you see a historic landmark. When you enter the structure, you find a modern office building with an underground parking garage. And hidden under this normalcy is a large secure bunker available for emergency use whenever it's needed.

Saddam Hussein's Secret
Underground Aircraft Hangers

For five years Bunker Builder, Kurt, was one of the chief construction engineers for a major construction company in Iraq. At that time Iraq was under the control of Saddam Hussein. Bunker builder, Kurt worked on power station, highways, and Saddam's secret bunkers.

One of the bunkers he built was a secret aircraft hanger under a highway. The Bunker was about two kilometers long and was directly under the highway. When planes would leave, the traffic was stopped about two miles from the hanger's exit door. The exit end of the hanger would open up and the airplanes would take off directly down the highway, and then veer off to the side so that the people in the stopped cars never knew why the traffic was temporarily halted.

The planes would land on another highway at right angle to the hanger and at the opposite end of the hanger. Again the traffic would be stopped so far away the the public never saw the planes landing. The entrance end of the hanger would open up and the planes would be pulled in with an aircraft tractor, and then the door would be closed and the traffic allowed to continue.
